i was werking (lol smelly ) on a client's puter the other day and needed a key for win 7 , i have 3 puters here on the net and used the gaming

machine for the dl , wrong move , all my anti vi was turned off , i do that for gaming , and i got this virus 'SIREFEF.GEN!c'
here is the goss on it

Sirefef.gen!c is a big deal to the computer that users find it hard to be dealt with by security programs. It is able to make copies on the

operating system with random file names to conceal its existence and take place for harmful damages to drive computer disorderedly. CPU usage

will be noticed to pull up to high degree, programs fail to respond smoothly, fake error pops up or even system freeze. What's terrible,

Sirefef.gen!c is found to stop firewall to download unfamiliar malware into computer to enlarge the system attack. Computer may even get crashed

down and make you lose important data. Thus, for the sake of the security of computer, Sirefef.gen!c must be terminated as fast as possible.

i swear by griddensof trojan killer , and it found the bastard and removed it but when i rebooted the dropper was still active and it re installed

itself . my anti virus didnt pick it up on a deep scan either

they had the usual regedit file path to follow to manually remove it but the virus must of changed the way it installs cause i couldn't find it in

the registery so this is what i did to fix it .

google "avira rescue cd" (kransky , avast , and a few others also have versions ) the cd is updated daily so no point in keeping it for more than

a week , just re download it if u need it again .

there is an exe or an iso file download option , i did the exe , when you start the exe it prompt u to burn a disk , do this then boot your pc

from this . my scan took 5 hours , heaps of drives to scan lol , it found everything and renamed the files it couldnt remove and delt with the

rest , and when i restarted , the virus was dead .
