Found this recent release of an International Touring Car Championship mod (ITCC).
Very driveable (maybe a bit arcadey), includes numerous makes, but all with the same physics and power from a V8 engine!
All cars have a plain , white skin, so ideal for customising (templates included)

This mod could be a contender for the next Wednesday Series, beginning mid January.

D/L HERE

Any thoughts on this mod or other possible options for Wednesday Racing?

Well Not a Fan of this mod very boring no colour but I guess we can fix that however what we cant fix is a 5 geared rear mounted holden monaro WTF. Dont think i wanna waste my time with this one Rob mate. Also noticed that the Bently seems tobe the only car with engine in the front hmmmmm :S

I have a suggestion for Wednesday nites, RF2 using either the new Lola Mod or F2's or F3' on the 1960's mod, i am not much for arcadish type sims, and am loving the physics in RF2, heaps of tracks to choose from, i am sure i am not the only one feeling this way

Fair comments, John and Chris. Maybe it is time to start an RF2 competition. I have not even d/l'd it yet, so I have no idea as to whether this beta has all of the features that make running a series possible. Comments?

I will be taking up SMELLY'S kind offer of help to get me up to speed on rf2. :) ... i Think the gold versioin is still a long way away.

Probably all the features that RF1 have are there and in RF2, they just havent put in some of the extra goodies that have been promised, but RF2 does have some things that RF1 doesnt like changing Track conditions, so i personally think it would be capable of running a race series

I'd agree with John & Chris too. The ITCC is a bit average.
I can't run rF2 on my crappy old computer (lucky to run rF1)
so I'd have to sit out of Wednesdays for a little while until I
get enough cash to get a decent pc box if ya go for rf2's.
(unforeseen expenses took the money I had set aside for a new PC!!!).

I've been trialling 2 mods that may be of interest Rob if ya still do the odd
rF1 mod during the year.
Sim-Stox Old School v2.3 seems pretty good. It has Capris, Escorts Mk1 & 2,
Fiat Miafiori & opel Kadett! Not cars that would initially instill someone with
excitement, but they go hard and are tricky (aka, FUN) to drive.
I've chucked the mod on the old FTP server under 'rFactor Related/Mods'.
I'm hoping Nib will chuck it on the server where the NAGT's are (the NAGT's
are a bit like the ITCC unfortunately).

The other mod one from LMT which is DTM 2008-2010 v1.1.
It has V8 Audis & Mercs. A bit V8SC but completely different
to drive. A little challenging to start with, but once ya get the hang of them
(doesn't take that long) they're pretty intense (aka FUN!!!). Was doing 1:08's
easy on Sandown with pretty much standard setup.

Both mods might provide some good close racing. They are suited to different tracks, so would be
good series as not the same.

Cheers

if we run rf2 we are gonna need a couple weeks for people to get it (if they choose to) and get all the add ons necessary then theres the factor of getting it all installed properly and working ..It is easy but can be a bitch too i had 3 days where i was installing and uninstalling mods ,tracks it was saying it was installed on the mod manager but in game it was no where then all of a sudden it showed that nothing was installed.... go figure lol, graphics are awesome but still rely on decent pc to run them on my pc i still find it a tad framey but i have EVERYTHING! turned on Max down to the grass moving in the wind. lol

IMO the itcc are easy to drive maybe to easy definately arcadey and the cars speak for themselves lmao bout the only thing there got going is the the racing that they problably could provide

and on the bentleigh side of thing not sure if the engine is in the front or right at the back but it is NOT visible like the others it was the easiest car to drive and had superior turn in to the others

I guess it now depends on what each member considers more attractive:
either... a new experience with great graphics and realistic feel with RF2, BUT with apparently a load of various issues,
or........... a very basic, easy driving mod which WILL produce close and exciting side by side racing.

I think we DO need to move forward with RF2, but I can't see a full blown series being possible for quite a few weeks (months?).

Perhaps a poll?? :woohoo:

Option 1: Wednesday night becomes RF2 night, with an immediate series, even if numbers are limited.
Option 2: Run a short (4 / 5 week) series Wednesdays with an rf1 mod (not necessarily ITCC), giving all members a chance to get up to spec with RF2
Option 3: None of the above LOL

Option 2 - Don't think we can affort to split everyone up. RF2 is gr8 and the numbers were there the other night but will they be regulars and financial? I think we set a date for a RF2 league that all members agree to and hopefully everyone will be up to speed by then.

I would have probably stolen cars - it would have given me the same adrenaline rush as racing.

I am happy to wait a bit till people get up to speed to run RF2 but from what i have seen most of the Wednesday nites in the last few series on a good nite we are lucky to get 10 guys and more than half of those wednesday regulars already have RF2 and with one of the few rf2 servers that has aids on, we might be more likely to attact some new members as most time i jump on our rf2 server we get randoms, and i know that there is really only a couple of enjoyable mods, there is quite a few good tracks. So far lately on RF1 i have not enjoyed any new mod lately and only enjoy previously used mods like, TCL, Bathurst Legends, Porsche Cup, Dumans and the Utes. And even thought its still a wip it will be good to run a series with it

Not sure if we need a poll as option 2 is probably the way to go.
