FVR are working on the 2011 version of their V8 mod. Rather than change mods we will be waiting for the new version to come out. There isn't a release date yet but should be out before the real V8 season starts. You can keep up to date with how the mod is going in the FVR forums.

That's next weekend, do you think it'll be released next week?

Have we abandoned 1.7?

How confident are you that FVRV8_2011 will have the tyre, tank and diff options we want?

I am in discussions with FVR about that now Rims. The idea is to have the upgrades xfactor wants to use built into the main FVR release. (which they had already planned to do) The control tyres will be look at and made the same.

I have personally abandoned 1.7 but if enough of you want to use it I'll put it on the server and someone else can run it.

My fingers are crossed it will be released by next weekend

Doesn't seem worth using 1.7 any more, hope the new one is ready this week.

my vote lets wait till the 2011 release.

I would have probably stolen cars - it would have given me the same adrenaline rush as racing.

It had better be good because i think the racing with 1.7 has been the best we have had.

Agree there Tas but if the 2011 ver is anything like the mod we're running at Adrenalin then it will be better. Physics, sound and look is just awesome.

I must have missed something, is there an issue with 1.7? I thought the last round was awesome but if people had issues I didn't realise...
Can someone please fill me in?

I would have been happy to keep racing 1.7 on the sprint tyres until the new version came along as the issue was mostly with the control tyre in our upgrade. I will give the new version a shot but wont be racing it if the racing isnt as good as 1.7 has been.

It started as being about the disparity between how the hard tyre in the "control tyre" upgrade and the hard tyre in the "dual tyre" upgrade perform, the latter being far too skaty to race on.

The time and effort spent on getting the XFUpgrades was wasted if they couldn't be used as planned and FVR didn't give us a quick-fix, probably too busy working on FVRV8_2011.

I was concerned that we were using a different version than everyone else which would negate any recruiting value the V8's have so I'll be happy when we're using the 2011 version. Hopefully it'll work properly 1st go, with all the options we want.

I would've been happy to continue on soft tyres too, I was starting to get the hang of it, but I didn't know that v1.7 was about to become obsolete, otherwise I would've stuck with 1.6E or waited 'til the scratch-built 2011 version is released.
